Fans of Anne Rice's gay vampire thriller "Interview with the Vampire" will thrill to the news that the book's even gayer TV series adaptation is among a number of AMC+ series slated to play on Max.

The Wrap reported that the seven-episode first season of "Interview with the Vampire" will join Season 1 of "Dark Winds," three seasons of "A Discovery of Witches," seven seasons of "Fear the Walking Dead," four seasons of "Killing Eve," and other AMC+ titles throughout September and October, getting viewers in the mood for the Halloween season.

"From Sept. 1 to Oct 31., a promotional pop-up tile called 'AMC+ Picks on Max' will be available for both ad-free and ad-lite Max subscribers in the U.S.," The Wrap detailed. "AMC content itself will be ad-free."

"Subscribers turn to Max to find a deep and diverse selection of stories for the whole household," The Wrap quoted Warner Bros. Discovery executive Meredith Gertler saying in a statement. "The AMC+ collection pop-up is an excellent example of how we can use innovative strategies to add value to our content offering."

The TV adaptation of "Interview with the Vampire" differs in significant ways from the original novel and the 1994 film version with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Lead characters Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and his vampiric creator and lover, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), are unapologetically portrayed as gay in the early years of the 20th century, complete with sex, infidelity, lovers' quarrels, a climactic knock-down drag-out fight, and disagreements around how to raise their adopted vampiric daughter. In the present day, Louis and a gay journalist hash out their differences and tease the truth from Louis' shifting account.

"AMC Networks, which boasts a total of 11 million streaming subscribers as of the end of the second quarter of 2023, also plans to launch an ad-supported streaming tier for AMC+ by October," The Wrap noted.

A second season of the popular series has been greenlit, though production has been interrupted due to the SAG-Aftra strike. Watch the preview for "Interview with the Vampire" below.
