'Dragula's Meatball Says George Santos and Meghan McCain Misunderstood His Parody

Per usual, the GOP doesn't understand the assignment, according to "The Boulet Brothers' Dragula" queen Meatball.

During an interview with John McCain's daughter Meghan McCain, on her "Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat," much-maligned GOP Rep. George Santos praised Meatball for a performance that went viral last February. At "Drag Race" winner Sasha Velour's NightGowns stage show, Meatball embodied Santos as his drag alter-ego, Kitara Ravache, and as the political fraud that we know today.

Santos called the performance "hilarious," with McCain adding that it is a "badge of honor" to be impersonated by a drag queen.

But Meatball said he is laughing at Santos, not with him.

"The delusion is what I love," Meatball told Entertainment Weekly.

"I have been dying to know what he thought about the performance since it went viral seven months ago, and I am gagged, to say the least," said Meatball. "I'm honored that Congressman George Santos thought I did a good job, but, his husband is right. It was a clear mockery."

Meatball does agree with McCain that a drag impersonation is a high honor. But honoring wasn't the point in Santos' case.

"I do believe they both misunderstood the context and intent of the performance," Meatball explained.

He added, "Every day I become more and more obsessed with the news surrounding Congressman Santos and his inability to read the room or have any awareness to how he's being perceived. The delusion is what I love, and I think a lot of drag queens live in a world surrounded by delusions, so, maybe that's why I feel so connected to my king, George Santos. Politics is just drag with money? So, maybe there's a newer George Santos number on the way."

We sure hope so. Perhaps a number where she embodies Santos in an orange jumpsuit?
