Gay Twitter (now X) showed some appreciation for Springboks player Damian Willemse as the athlete brought the heat post-World Cup, with splayed-led thirst traps, sweaty gear, and a bum tattoo.

The Boks trounced the All Blacks at the rugby World Cup over the weekend.

"The 25-year-old started the 12-11 victory over the All Blacks in the final on Saturday [Oct. 28] and has been pictured in full kit since," Planet Rugby reported.

Times Live verified that photos and videos posted to social media show how "Willemse is seen partying up a storm before he wakes up spread-eagled wearing the same kit."

"Eagle-eyed fans spotted the flyhalf has barely changed into anything else since the final match on Saturday."

Willemse did tell the media that he showered post-game, before slipping back into his uniform.

But it wasn't just how Willemse kept right on wearing his sweaty togs off the pitch that got fans in a lather.

"That evening, the Boks had tattoo artists come into their hotel with the likes of RG Snyman, Siya Kolisi, Bongi Mbonambi and Willemse all getting fresh ink with the William Webb Ellis Cup printed on their skin with 2019 and 2023 underneath it," the site detailed.

"Willemse posted a video of the cheeky spot he decided to get his World Cup-winning tattoo on Instagram, a move that has proved popular with some fans," Planet Rugby added.

The athlete's effusive happiness went on and on, spilling over from rugby world into gay social media.
