Source Claims Bobby Berk 'Asked to Leave' 'Queer Eye' – 'Not Vibing' with Castmates

A source alleges that "Queer Eye" star Bobby Berk's "heart was not in it" and there were "challenges," claims that come on the heels of Berk's announcement that Season 8 of the reality show will be his last, Us Weekly reported.

"There were many challenges with scheduling [and] there was a loss of interest from Bobby filming the show," Us reported the source as saying.

"The network and the cast thought it was time to bring in fresh blood," the source went on to add. "His heart was not in it and the rest of the cast started to resent him because of that."

Another source, however, disputed those claims, Us noted, telling the outlet "Berk 'was not asked to leave' and the 'decision was amicable.'"

"Berk, the interior design guru on 'Queer Eye,' confirmed his reality TV exit on Monday, November 13," Us noted, referencing an emotional Instagram post in which Berk wrote that his departure from the show has "not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one."

"Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not," Berk added. "You will be seeing more of me very soon."

"Berk, 42, was an OG member of the Fab Five on the rebooted version of 'Queer Eye,' which premiered in 2018," the magazine recalled. "He costarred alongside Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness."

"His announcement comes three months after he announced his father's death in August," British news outlet the BBC noted.

"The designer found fame after a troubled childhood," the BBC recounted. "He has previously spoken about how, at the age of 15, he left home because he did not feel able to come out as gay in his religious family and community in Missouri."

"He ended up living in his car and with friends, before later becoming the creative director of a furnishing company and then launching his own interior design business."

Berk's fellow castmates expressed dismay and support, news reports said.

The show's food and wine connoisseur, Antoni Porowski, responded: "#foreverthefab5 indeed, and don't forget it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Stylist Jonathan Van Ness reacted with, "One of a kind and such a star. Love you Bobby." In the responses to Berk's Instagram message he left a string of heart emojis.

Culture expert Karamo Brown declared, "@bobby we are #ForeverTheFab5 | no matter what. I'm about to be a Netflix's door & e-mails telling them you can't leave! Who is coming with me? 😢😍 I love you!"

Fans, too, weighed in.

"Bobby! Read the room!" one person pleaded. "We are not emotionally equipped for this news today!!!"

Another posted: "As a queer, former evangelical, I needed to hear your story. Thank you for being the light that you are. We love you. We support you. We can't wait to see what you'll do next."

A third wrote: "Bobby! We love you sooo much!! And are forever thankful for all you have done for so many us!! We will miss you terribly but we cannot wait for your next adventure!! Thank you for everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Berk expressed gratitude to the show's viewers in the post where he announced he was leaving "Queer Eye," writing, "The love that I have received from you all over the last 6 years has been absolutely surreal...."

"I learned from you all about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better," added. "The way you have embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something that l will truly carry with me for the rest of my life."

Though he will still be part of the show's upcoming eighth season, Berk has seemingly moved on already, announcing the impending publication of a new book, "Right at Home: How Good Design is Good for the Mind," which, he posted, is available now for preorder.
