Lil Nas X is ready for a new and potentially more controversial music era. After pole dancing into hell and giving the devil a lap dance in his last era, Nas X now says he is entering into his "Christian era" with a new song.
As reported by Billboard, Nas X teased a new song on social media in a sing-song prayer: "Father stretch my hands/ The lonely road seems to last the longest," he said. "Help me with my plans/ Everything seems to go nowhere."
For the occasion, Nas X donned a denim skirt and a T-shirt that said, "if God doesn't exist, then who's laughing at us?"
In the final stretch of the teaser, he calls on "angels" to help him "keep my faith."
As is typical for the discourse around Lil Nas X, the teaser was met with a mix of intrigue and critique. On X, some users criticized the rapper for "mocking" Christianity, while others accused him of going over to the dark side. But he clarified, he "making christian music does not mean i can't suck d–k no more." He added, "the two are not mutually exclusive. i am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons."
Amen.
Lil Nas X's last single "Star Walkin'" was released September 2022.
