Billie Eilish Chides Variety for Outing Her on Red Carpet - 'Please Literally Who Cares'

Billie Eilish is calling out media outlet Variety for 'outing' her as queer during a red carpet interview that went viral over the weekend, reports Page Six.
In a November profile she told Variety "I'm physically attracted to [women]. But I'm also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence."
On Saturday morning while walking the red carpet at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch she was asked by a reporter from the outlet if she intended to come out on the red carpet.
"I didn't realize people didn't know," she said.
But she wasn't happy with the question, as she explained on Instagram:
"thanks variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters i like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream 'what was i made for"đŸ¥¸me alone about it please literally who cares,'" she captioned a series of photos of herself at the event including one of her sashaying away from an Entertainment Tonight reporter.
At the event Eilish said she "didn't realize people didn't know" she was queer.
"I didn't [know I was coming out], but I kinda thought, wasn't it obvious?" she added.
"I'm still scared of [women], but I think they're pretty."
But she continued that Eilish doesn't believe people should have to reveal their sexuality, whether they're in the public eye or not.
"I saw the article, and I was like, 'Oh, I guess I came out today.' I just don't really believe in [coming out]. I'm just like, why can't we just exist? I've been doing this for a long time, and I just didn't talk about it," she said.
Page Six reached out to Variety, but they did not return any comment.
"The singer previously dated rapper Brandon "Q" Adams and The Neighbourhood frontman Jesse Rutherford. Since splitting from Rutherford, who was 11 years her senior, in May, the singer was seen getting cozy with 'Love, Victor' actress Ava Capri, who is queer, at a party."
