Lil Nas X Promotes New Song with a Photo You Have to See to Believe

Lil Nas X remains the king of clapbacks and unorthodox self-promotion, and his latest stunt is sure to get conservative tongues wagging.
Nas X has revealed the cover art for a new song titled "J Christ" that will hit streaming platforms on Jan. 12. In typical Nas X fashion, he is going for shock value. In a beautifully produced photo, the rapper recreates Jesus nailed to the cross.
"My new single is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time!" he said. The upcoming song will officially kick off his sophomore album, and will reportedly include a music video.
It's been almost three years since Nas X rode a stripper pole down to Hell to give Satan a lap dance, and we must say we are very excited to see what he does next.
Many saw this coming, with Nas X teasing an acoustic song on X/Twitter last year and writing, "Y'all mind if I enter my Christian era?"
In the clip, Nas X dances in a deserted street and wears a T-shirt that reads, "If God doesn't exist then who's laughing at u."
From what can be heard in the clip, the musical lyrics of the song go something like this: "I call on angels / I'm trying hard to face my pain, yeah / Give me hope when I feel / Give me hope when I feel less."
And, of course, social media had plenty to say about his latest promotion.
"Y'all see everything I do as a gimmick. When in reality I'm just an artist expressing myself in different ways," Nas X wrote on X. "Whether I'm a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now christian y'all find a problem! Y'all don't police nobody else art like mine. Y'all hate me because I'm fun cute and petite."
Agreed.
