Move Over 'Masc' TikTokers – It's Time for the 'Sassy Man Apocalypse'
Jake Myers READ TIME: 7 MIN.
One user, @deanacree, points out the ridiculousness of men calling each other sassy for doing something traditionally more "gay," like ordering a lemon drop on a date.

While some gay men seem to feign annoyance by the trend (hence, the term "apocalypse"), we're choosing to believe that isn't coming from a homophobic place, but instead an adjustment to their boyfriends' newfound freedom to be as authentically "extra" as they deserve to be.
@slamdrew6 He said so much without saying anything at all 🙄🙄 #sassymanapocalypse #gayrelationships #bi ♬ Black keys 2 - TayoLoxs
@etiennenajman He knew I was a sassy one long ago 🥱 #relationships #couplecomedy #lgbtq #gay #gaycouples #gaycomedy ♬ Black keys 2 - TayoLoxs
Alas, like with any trend, there can be controversy. Some social media users argue that if straight guys are being sassy on social media, it simply means they're gay. Let's hope sass trailblazers like @444pray are helping to dismantle this homophobia.

Regardless, we're here for any progress towards undermining old archetypal beliefs about what it means to be a guy. Whether you're gay or straight, we invite as much of the "lil sprinkle sprinkle" as you've got.
Now excuse us while we update our Grindr profile to say "Sassy guys a plus."
