Madonna Finally Responds to That Lawsuit Over Her Lateness

Emell Adolphus READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Welp, the gays who are suing Madonna for her lateness finally got the Queen of Pop's attention, and she seems ready to fight.

If you remember, two men have filed a lawsuit against Madonna for being over two hours late to one of two "Celebration" tour shows on her New York City stop. And the men were not happy at all about it.

Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden accused Madonna, Live Nation, and Barclays Center of "unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices." Tickets for the Dec. 13 Celebration show at Barclays marketed included a 8:30 p.m. start time, but Madonna did not hit the stage until sometime after 10:30 p.m.

However, Madonna does not plan to take the lawsuit lying down, it seems.

"The shows opened in North America at Barclays in Brooklyn as planned, with the exception of a technical issue Dec. 13 during soundcheck," tour company Live Nation and Madonna's management said in a statement. "This caused a delay that was well documented in press reports at the time. We intend to defend this case vigorously."

A source told People magazine that the Dec. 13 performance suffered delays due to "issues during soundcheck that caused the schedule to get delayed by an hour." After all, Madonna did not use a live band on this tour.

But lateness has been a reoccurring theme at Madonna shows. Even when the tour kicked off in Europe, fans indicated that she went on late and had to end the show early as a result.

But it's not just Fellows and Hadden who have had it with Madonna's lateness. Celebrities are joining in on the outrage, too.

"I personally wouldn't wait two hours to get a hot oil massage from George Clooney, much less a concert by anybody," said "The View" co-host Joy Behar. Co-host Sara Haines added that it was "disrespectful" to Madonna's fans.
