Orville Peck Gets Nearly Naked for Paper Magazine

Country singer Orville Peck is revealing more and more about the man behind the mask. And the South African-born, Canada-raised crooner has decided to give his fans an eyefull for Paper magazine.

In a revealing interview, and an even more revealing photoshoot, Peck confides in "RuPaul's Drag Race" star and friend Gottmik about how he manages to keep the mystery surrounding his persona.

For one, the mask helps, which Peck has been switching up lately, Gottmik noticed, from a signature fringe piece that covered his mouth and lips to something that puts the lower half of his face on full display.

"I really like evolution with artists," said Peck. "Not to get too deep about it, but it's sort of a parallel with my songwriting and with just who I want to be as an artist and a person, which is to always be more vulnerable and reveal a bit more of myself through my music and everything. So it's kind of just an evolution."

Peck has made history as the "first openly gay country artist to get signed to a major label." Not stopping there, Peck has carved out his own career path and proved himself many times over as a musician with staying power.

He just landed a duet with pop goddess Kylie Minogue, "Midnight Run," and he is on the road.

"I'm on tour. I'm in Cincinnati. I've been on tour for two weeks. It's the first time I've been touring in, like, over a year. So it's been really, really amazing," Peck told Gottmik. "I've put out half of my new duets album, which is really fun. And I just put out the first song of the remainder of the album. It's all happening."

And it's all working for him.

"It's crazy. I feel like I've scratched every possible itch," said Peck. And summer has only just begun.
