Watch: Bronze Avery's 'Heatwave' Video Features Zane Phillips, Celebrates 'a Queer Summer'

Are you ready for a fresh new Song of the Summer? Bronze Avery's new single, "Heatwave," is a Pride month anthem dripping with allure – and the video has some sizzling eye candy thanks to a bevy of boys, including "Fire Island" hunk Zane Phillips.

A prelude to the song shows Avery and Phillips lying on the floor during a sweltering afternoon, with a fan blowing air over them as Avery spells out words on Phillips' six-pack abdomen. Challenging Phillips to demonstrate how much fun he can be, Avery has his way with the handsome hunk – and then heads off. "Going on a date!" he tosses over his shoulder on his way out the door. "This was really fun, though – seriously! See you next week?"

It might be more than just one date, though, as Avery navigates his way through a montage of scenarios: Dancing with a hot hoofer, taking a bath with a cute, curly-haired guy, and flirting with a muscle shirt-clad man before jumping into the backseat of a car for a quick make out session, among other scenarios.

"The video features cameos from some of Avery's queer L.A.-based friends, among them model Ren Sandhu, Queer as Folk actor Fin Argus, dancer Christopher Aguirre, and entertainment host Ryan Mitchell," Rolling Stone noted.

"I filmed it dripping in nostalgic colors to tie back into the Florida warmth that raised me," Avery, who directed the video himself, told the music magazine.

Avery described himself to Rolling Stone as "a Black, queer, multi-faceted artist in pop music," and the video's various elements – from the dancing to the editing – show him living up to his claims.

As for his main scene partner – who the video cuts back to throughout, as Phillips hangs out and waits to see Avery again – the musician said, "Ever since I've known him he's always been extremely kind. He absolutely shreds on the dancefloor, though he can be a bit shy when it comes to karaoke."

Added Avery: "You could catch us both at Stud, sometimes twice a week perfecting our steps. I always feel at ease around him and already knew that he'd charm anyone who watches."

The video captures a joyous party vibe not unlike last summer's Troye Sivan hit, "Crush."

"I want people to feel the urge to dance until they're drenched in sweat," Avery said. "I want them to gather the courage to kiss their crush, raise a glass with their friends, and laugh if it spills. I want them to forget their inhibitions, dance like everyone is watching, and put on an epic performance."
