"Today, Donald Trump selected JD Vance as his running mate, making clear that a second Trump Administration would build on its legacy of being the most anti-LGBTQ+ in American history," writes the Human Rights Campaign.

"MAGA author and US Senator JD Vance has a history of spewing anti-LGBTQ+ vitriol and opposes reproductive freedoms nationwide," the Human Rights Campaign continues.

While appearing on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show in 2022 on a segment on sex education, he joined the host in saying Democrats are "groomers."

"Vance accused Democrats of "sexualizing" children, but concluded the issue is ultimately one of 'parental rights,'" reported Mediaite.

"If you don't want to be called a groomer, don't try to sexualize six-, seven-year-old children. It's really that simple," Vance said. "At that of the day, like you said, this is about parental rights. According to a candidate profile on the website iVoterGuide.com, Lance was surveyed on political and social issues. In the "Values" section he said he "strongly disagreed" with the statement: "Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws."

,The HRC adds that Vance has railed against the Equality Act,railed against the Equality Act, calling its landmark nondiscrimination provisions "an assault," and argued that victims of rape and incest should be be barred from accessing abortion care.
