New music by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars is here. After days of teasing and rumors, the duo announced a new song called "Die With a Smile" Thursday afternoon and released the song with its music video at midnight.

Gaga announced the plan on social media with a promo photo that seems to be a recreation of a 1976 photo made famous by Loredana Berte and Albano.

Although there is no confirmation, it seems the song might be a nod to the upcoming "Joker: Folie À Deux," in which Gaga stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix.

Mars and Gaga lean into a country vibe on the cover art for the song and the song is a power ballad. However, Variety reported that Grammy-winning songwriter-producer Andrew Watt – who produced the Rolling Stones' "Hackney Diamonds" last year and projects with Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne and others – was involved in the song's creation.

Watt also teased the Gaga/Bruno collaboration on Thursday.

Leading up to Gaga's turn as Harley Quinn in "Joker" part deux, fans can expect a whole knew side of Gaga with singing "unlike anything I've ever done before," she told Empire.

"People know me by my stage name, Lady Gaga, right? That's me as that performer, but that is not what this movie is," Gaga said. "I'm playing a character. So I worked a lot on the way that I sang to come from Lee, and to not come from me as a performer... How do you take music and have it just be an extension of the dialogue, as opposed to breaking into song for no conceivable reason?"
