Ari Gold

Jason Salzenstein READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Ari Gold is a dichotomy. He?s gay, but he?s tough. He?s butch, but he?s sensitive. He?s hot as hell, but damn- he?s got some bad hairstyles.

Basically, Ari Gold is human.

My feelings towards him (his public persona anyway; I?m not pretending I know him intimately, (although I won?t complain if he?d like to show me) also run the gamut. On one hand, I totally respect his philosophy on life, love, being exactly who you are and not living to please anyone. On the other, I find him arrogant, snide, egocentric and cocky- not my favorite qualities in a man.

I guess what it comes down to is that Ari Gold is human, and this book of photos and lyrics shows that. He?s got good days (when his head is shaved completely or his hair is longer) and bad (the lines and designs in the hair- not so much), and just like everyone else, he?s looking to find out who he is. Luckily for him (and us!) he?s doing it in public and on the pages of this book.

In various poses, costumes and stages of undress, Ari reveals a bit about himself in his wardrobe, his eyes and his smile. The smile alone makes the price of the book worthwhile, although the gaze from those deep eyes is also intriguing, sultry and inviting. Plus, you get a free remix CD of his music to listen to while you drool over his body. For fans of his music, fans of his body, fans of his eyes- you?ll be satisfied.
