ABSOLUT Kindness

Jason Salzenstein READ TIME: 2 MIN.

For most of us, Hurricane Katrina was merely a terrible disaster that we watched from the sidelines, safe in our homes far away from New Orleans. For the folks who lived there however, Katrina was- and still is- the devil, unleashing hell-on-earth not only for the days surrounding the storm, but for weeks, months, and likely years after. Sadly, thanks in large part to our current administration's inability to appropriately handle problems small or large, many of the people affected by Katrina haven't been able to return home- if they still have a home- and those who have were often devastated by the financial, emotional and spiritual toll taken on them.

What can you do to help? First, make a donation. If you have the ability to go to New Orleans to volunteer, get down there!. You can also help by spreading the word that although it's no longer hot news, the problems in cities along the Gulf Coast are still there, and still huge.

If going there's not an option, after you've made a donation, drink to your charity while helping support the cities affected by Katrina. ABSOLUT VODKA is helping the victims of Katrina in New Orleans with their new ABSOLUT NEW ORLEANS. This first-ever limited edition is not only fabulous, it also helps support a good cause. ABSOLUT has guaranteed a donation of at least $2 million to organizations benefiting New Orleans and cities along the Gulf Coast.

ABSOLUT NEW ORLEANS isn't just a repackaged version of one of their other flavors; this is a new, eclectic and somewhat wild flavor, just like the city herself; juicy mango is kicked up with hints of black pepper and other natural flavors, offering a vodka that's just as good on the rocks as it is mixed in a drink. It's available nationwide at bars, clubs, restaurants, and hotels, and in supermarkets and liquor stores in select locations. 100% of the profits go to charities, so take a sip and salute the brave men and women in New Orleans!
