Fla. Man Stabbed 5 Times During Gay Hookup in Cemetery

Police from Tallahassee, Fla., say a man was stabbed five times on July 24 by a man with whom he was having sex in a cemetery in Oakland, Fla., Tallahassee NBC-affiliate station WTXL reports.

According to court documents, Devante L. Johnson met the victim at the cemetery around 11 p.m. The victim, who remains unnamed, said Johnson mentioned the victim's ex-boyfriend during the "sexual activity" before he stabbed him. Johnson allegedly told the victim "no one would have to worry" about him anymore.

Authorities say the victim was able to kick Johnson, 18, out of the car and lock the doors. The victim told police that Johnson tried to get back into the vehicle through a window that was slightly opened. Nevertheless, the victim was able to escape and drive off, crashing through the cemetery's fence.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment to his wounds. A police report claims there was a total of five stab wounds. The victim was stabbed three times in the chest and once in each arm. Police say he had to undergo surgery for internal injuries due to a punctured lung and lacerated liver.

Johnson was arrested for attempted murder on Wednesday.
