PopUps: James Franco to Release Poetry Book Called 'Straight James / Gay James'

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

James Franco has never steered clear of playing gay on screen and now his interest in sexuality will be a central theme to his new poetry book.

In his upcoming book, called "Straight James / Gay James," the 37-year-old Hollywood hunk will "explore the faces of his public and private personas."

"'Straight James / Gay James' is a poetic bildungsroman--raw, candid, and uninhibited," the book's Amazon description reads. "James Franco writes about life as an actor, sexuality, questions of identity, gender, family, Gucci, Lana Del Rey, James Dean, and Hollywood. His poetic style varies from the imagistic to the prosaic. The chapbook also contains an interview of 'Gay James' conducted by 'Straight James.' Yes, Straight James asks the question: Let's get substantial: are you gay or what?"

According to Amazon, "Straight James / Gay James" is out on Jan. 1, 2016 and will cost you $12 for paperback and $4.99 on Kindle.

And yes: That is a tattoo of Lana Del Rey's face on Franco's neck, and the name "Lana" on his forehead. It shouldn't be a surprised, since Franco's fascination with the singer has been documented. Franco wrote an essay about Del Rey for V Magazine and as Stereogum reported in June, he also wrote a 100-page photo book along with David Shields called " Flip-Side: Real And Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey." That book is scheduled for a March 15 release.
