The Conjuring 2

After the wild success of the RI-based horror blockbuster "The Conjuring," an inevitable franchise was born. Thus, the aptly titled "The Conjuring 2" came out this past summer and made a boatload of cash. On Blu-ray, it loses its big screen scares even if the film is a must-have for fans of James Wan's horror films.

That filmmaker definitely knows how to rack up scares and "The Conjuring 2" is no exception. This time, a London family gets terrorized by spirits from the past and it's up to paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren to come save the day. The film focuses most of its attention of the Warrens and this London case was their most notorious of all.

But just how scary can a film be that takes place in a London flat? Haunted house movies belong in creaky, old, elongated homes and "The Conjuring 2" falls flat like its London setting.

On Warner Brothers Blu-ray, there are five special features and most promote the film in 10-minute segments:

"Crafting the Conjuring 2" - interviews director James Wan and cast/crew

"The Enfield Poltergeist: Living the Horror" - this intriguing featurette introduces the audience to the real family that "The Conjuring 2" features

"Creating Crooked" - a brief look at how the spirit of Crooked was created

"The Conjuring 2: Hollywood's Haunted Stage" - a laughably bad look at the supposed haunted spirits that terrorize the set of "The Conjuring 2"

"Sounds of Scary" - examines how the film's soundtrack came together.
