Cher Explains Chris Meloni Tweet: He's Hot... as an Actor!

Cher explained during an appearance on "The Late Late Show" that her recent adoring tweet about "Law & Order" actor Chris Meloni is about what a hot acting talent he is.
Meloni is the lead of a new series, a separate part of a long-running franchise, titled "Law & Order: Organized Crime."
Before now, he starred on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for 12 seasons; he departed the show -- now in its 22nd season -- in 2011.
An April 21 episode of the talk show found Corden and Cher bantering about how men and women should smell. Cher, wearing her own award-winning fragrance, said a man won't forget a woman if she "smells like dessert," but that a man should not, as Corden suggested, smell like "a log fire."
Corden, about four minutes in, brought up the tweet.
"Oh god, I hate when this happens," Cher said, as soon as Corden said the words "You recently tweeted."
"All right," Cher added, sounding reluctant.
Corden read the tweet aloud - " 'Christopher Meloni is excellent, a charismatic actor.' This was a late night tweet - what were you doing, watching reruns of ['Law and Order: Special Victims Unit']? What was it? Why? What brought that on?"
"Well, I think I'd seen his new show," Cher said. "I like that show, I think it's an excellent show, and underrated." Cher went on to add that when Meloni departed "SVU," something "kind of left" the series with him.
"So, when I saw him in the [new] show," Cher continued, "I thought, 'Good, and I'm glad you're back doing a show."
"You're not saying it because he's your type?" Corden asked.
"I knew you were going to say that," Cher said, pointing an accusing finger at the late night host.
Corden noted that Meloni, 60, is "a dish," to which Cher answered, "Just because someone is an excellent actor doesn't mean you want to jump on their bones and roll them around on the carpet!"
"Wow," Corden, unchastened, replied. "Sounds like you've really thought about this!"
"No! No! Not even for a minute!" Cher said. The singer refused to disclose who would be her type, but she did answer Corden as to where he falls on her list:
"Far, far away!"
