'Bros' Co-producer Shares His Supervision of Movie's 'Hot' Gay Sex Scenes

A co-producer for the upcoming gay rom-com "Bros" shared that he took a role in the supervision of the film's gay sex scenes to ensure they were "hot" enough.

Page Six reported that gay comedian and "Bros" co-producer Guy Branum related how he "was there every day for some of the sex scenes," explaining that he felt a need to supervise the movie's erotic moments because "Our director is straight and I was like, 'Someone needs to tell you [if it's] hot or not.'"

Branum said that while "a straight woman could do it" and "there's some straight men who could do it," he wasn't confident about straight director and co-writer Nicholas Stoller's ability to infuse enough steam into the flick. Said Branum: "I need to double check Nicholas Stoller's work" on the movie – despite Stoller's stellar track record as a director of rom-coms and comedies, including his work on "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "Get Him to the Greek," and "The Five-Year Engagement."

All of those films centered on straight men and their romances.

Branum didn't delve into details as to what he made sure the sex scenes in "Bros" contained in order to meet his hotness requirements, but he did joke about opening Grindr while on the set, at which point, he said, "my phone essentially exploded. There was a lot of Grindr out there."

Branum also said that he "stayed very clothed" during the shooting of a scene set at a nightclub, Page Six detailed. "But I do love that they made a gay club seem and feel like a real gay club," he added. "I thought was very helpful that there was 500 writhing men there the whole time."

"Bros" premieres in theaters Sept. 30.
