Ken in the upcoming "Barbie" flick is definitively not gay said Margot Robbie, who plays the iconic Barbie in the titular film. In fact, non of the Kens in the movie are gay because they have no sexualities, Robbie shared.

As reported by Attitude, Robbie is a producer on the film and confirmed that there is no gay storylines for the main Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, or any of the other Kens.

In discussing how inclusive Barbie Land is, Robbie explained that it is a very inclusive world.

"But they are all dolls. So, they don't have actually have sexual orientations because they don't have any reproductive organs, we figured," she said.

Although some fans might share disappointment over the answer, Robbie said it opened more doors to play up the film's clueless campiness.

"We wanted this film to feel like everyone was welcome," said Robbie. In place of LGBTQ characters, the film casted LGBTQ actors, including Scott Evans, Hari Nef, and Luke Macfarlane, but the latter had to turn down the role.

Robbie revealed that she and the producers were very focused on casting and "what energy they [the actors] brought to it as opposed to, like, trying to tick specific boxes."

Alas, but for some, Ken will always be a queer icon.

She added: "We wanted Barbie Land to feel incredibly inclusive. And we wanted this film to feel like everyone was welcome. So, it was so important that, kind of, every person that was, like, coming aboard the party would be able to represent someone else that could be watching this movie."

"Barbie" arrives July 21, and we can't wait. See Robbie's interview about Ken below.
