Margot Robbie Drank This to Get Doll-Like Skin

We wrote recently about Margot Robbie's extensive, expensive skincare routine that helped her achieve her Barbie glow. And while we're certain that there are plenty of very expensive procedures and professional treatments that also help, there's allegedly one other thing she did to level up her skin: Drank tea.

According to Jasmine Vico, a facialist and skin expert who worked with several actresses on the film, Robbie's impressive glow was aided by some good old fashioned milk thistle tea. According to Delish, Vico said, "Everything in the movies is about lighting. That's when I thought, okay, we're going to work on the liver; calm the nervous system; and make skin glow, but crucially we're going to work on that flow from within."

"Milk thistle cleanses your liver," she added. "When that happens, our liver automatically produces more glutathione, which then makes the skin more radiant. One of the most important ingredients within it is silymarin, which is now featured in a lot of skincare formulas."

According to Vico, the tea should be made from "the spiky heart of the milk thistle" and brewed for about 20 minutes to achieve peak bitterness.

"The liver likes anything bitter, because it helps it to flush," she said. "This tea is like a witch's brew!"

According to Delish, milk thistle also has a slew of other health benefits: Slowing the growth of cancer, lowering cholesterol levels, managing Type 2 diabetes, and promoting skin, bone, and liver health. But you should still check with a doctor before drinking the tea, as it can interfere with certain anxiety, cancer, allergy, and birth control medications.

If tea isn't your thing, it's still possible to reap the benefits of milk thistle via supplements, oils, tinctures, or powders. If it's good enough for Barbie, it's good enough for us.
